Do you ever think about influence?

Your impact on others or their influence on you?

I think about it a lot.

It could possibly be because I am a self-titled thinker....It evades my thoughts many times.

Definition: in-flu-ence --noun

The capacity or power of person or things to be a compelling force on or produce effects on the actions, behavior, opinions, etc., of others.

If you think about it, you influence in so many ways : Things you say, do, write, even how you look at others. To me influence is what I like to call 'The Ripple Effect'. Someone influences you, then you influence someone else, then that someone else influences the next person.

At one time, with all of my overt insecurities, I never thought this possible about myself. Laying all of those aside....I realized just how much I CAN have an influence in others lives, in positive and negative ways. If you pay attention.....SO many people watch you, and crave to be influenced by you. It is not an arrogant/egotistical way to look at influence, but reality.

It's also NOT about changing others. Many times influence is looked at in this light. It is about bringing out the BEST in a person. Not to change the person they are. Just by being who you are suppose to be, you will influence/inspire others by your attitude.

In my life, to influence or to be influenced is such a big thing to me. I want to influence and be influenced positively. Positiveness attracts positivity. Negativeness attracts negativity.

I love these classic and timeless lines by Charles Swindoll.....
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.”

Who/what influences you? I would love to hear your comments......
